Annandale Christian College was founded by Christian parents - not a church or a denomination - who felt passionately about the education of their children. They sought an education which was consistent with, and supportive of, the biblical values they held and were teaching in their own homes.
The Annandale Christian College journey began in 1982 as Canterbury Christian School with thirteen students and one teacher in the football clubhouse at Pioneer Park, Kirwan. The founding families’ goal was to use the spiritual privileges and knowledge which are ours by the grace of God to provide for our children, and for the children of any who want to join us, the finest education which we believe must be based ultimately upon the revealed Word of God....a school which is unequivocal in its values - a school which points its students to the Saviour of mankind - to a life of worthwhile service to God and man - a life that will never end. After a move into larger temporary premises, located on the Townsville District Baptist Church property, in 1983 to cater for growing student numbers, the school relocated to its own campus in Annandale in August 1988 with a new name - Annandale Christian School – in readiness for expanding into Secondary schooling in 1989. Since then the College’s programs and facilities have expanded to include, in 2015, Kindergarten (Pre-Prep); Primary (Preparatory – Year 6) and Secondary (Years 7 – 12).
